What Causes Elevated Triglyceride Levels In A Type 2 Diabetic Patient?
Sir i have high value trigliceride(450) and a type 2 diabetic patient .I am taking statin 10 mg and glufornin 1mg as medicines.I am 35 years (male). In some articles showing that flaxseed is good for this triglicerides and diabetics, because of omega 3. Sir please suggest is it good or any other alternative opinion
Hi,if u are type 2 diabetic u should mention your glycosylated hemoglobin means your past 3 months average blood sugar.I have seen many patients who has high triglycerides with normal cholesterol and other blood lipids, yes its bcuz of high sugar.first u control your sugar by appropriate oral hypoglycemics with mild to moderate exercises regularly,this will also help to reduce TAGs. One more thing statins are used to lower cholesterol only,for TAGs fibrate group of drugs are used, u should change this but only after your diabetologist consultation.
