Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good day, I just want to ask, my medical shows slightly high triglycerides, and Im scheduled to go to work this april 29 if I passed my medical. My question is, will It just be just a re-test of my blood or Am I subject for medication? I can’t follow up my medical just yet because of my trainings. Please help my peace of mind. Thank you doc. PS. What should I do to lower my triglyceride.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If the triglycerides are slightly high you are not a subject of medication. You should follow a diet. Some advice that I can give to you are :
- Avoid foods that are concentrated in sugar (even dried fruit and fruit juice). Sugary foods can elevate triglyceride levels in the blood, so keep them to a bare minimum. - Swap out refined carbohydrates from whole grains. - Do medical check-ups every three months
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
