Hi,

Uric acid level of 8 mg in the serum is definitely high and needs to be treated with dietary controls like reduced intake of protein foods etc., with uric acid lowering drugs like Allopurinol and Febuxostat as well as with symptomatic pain and anti-inflammatory drugs like Tylenol and Ibuprofen etc.

You may be having gout of knee joints or it may be some other pathology of knee joint also. You are advised to continue your medicine of gout of foot and also some anti-inflammatory. However, if there is no relief of symptoms within 48 hours, you are advised to consult your doctor for further diagnostic work up and treatment accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
