since last two months iam taking 10 mg myteka due to persistant cough also took priton for one month currently my urine d/r test shows urobilinogen on the border line. which 16 umol/l. normaly in my past test it was 3.2 umol/l . is it side effect of the above medicine or it shows some thing else.
Hello dear user! I have gone through your query and understood your concerns! Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic. Increased levels of urobilinogen indicate a liver damage. It may be due to the medications but also due to liver or gastrointestinal tract infections. Please do not neglect this situation. Have a consultation with your doctor to determine the real cause which has caused that. A liver ultrasound examination and Liver enzymes, SGPT, SGOT, bilirubin also are needed to evaluate the condition of the liver. If the medical cause is excluded then your doctor may ask you to go through additional examinations. I hope this answer was helpful to you! Please kindly rate it as helpful and write a short review about your experience with me! I would appreciate that a lot. Thank you and best regards! DR ERIOL.
