Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Elevation In BP Levels Despite Being On Medication?
I have high blood pressure ... I m on medication, but tonight in my reading was 198/102. My doctor is monitoring and prepared to adjust the medication. My sister and mother both had strokes. I m worried. Should I consider going to ER or wait until tomorrow and check with my doctor? Sorry .... Didn t realize there was a charge.
Now, if your doctor prescribed any medication to reduce blood pressure (bp), then, should take another dose.
If you are not having any medication yet, then, should go to the ER with such high blood pressure (198/102). Should take immediate medications to reduce bp.
For the moment, I can only suggest taking a lemon juice. Just squeeze a whole lemon, add a bit of water or drink it like that. This will reduce your bp at home, but still require medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
