What Causes Elevation Of Lymphocytes Count After A Flu Attack?
Hello,My absolute lymphocytes count is 3.55 thou/mm3 and differential lymphocytes count is 50%. I did have a flu about a month ago, could it be high because of the flu? Shouldn t lymphocytes return to normal within a month. Another cause of worry is the absolute basophils count is 0.00, the report shows that it should be between 0.01 - 0.10.
I can understand your concern. Your total leucocyle and differntial lymphocyte count is sure high. Flu about a month ago, if treated, would not show these high values. There is a possibility that you are having some viral infection in your body. You should visit your family physician for physical examination so he can find out the source of infection.
Secondly, even though normal basophil range is 0.01 to 0.1, even if no basophils are found in your blood test, it is not a cause of concern. It is only when Basophil counts are higher than normal, it should be considered.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
