What is Ggt related to in this scenario..echocardiogram shows severly thickened Walls and left ventricular hyper trophy .... Is this indicative of heart failure?
To start with, I will like to know what the reported value was. If this is very close to the normal range, then controlling would be the best plan as of now since there are no other symptoms that suggest an ongoing disease condition. However, if it were not the case, we would need to do a complete set of tests to get more answers.
GGT is not only affected by alcohol consumption. Diseases of the bile tract, gall bladder and liver can affect this reading. This is to say that the fact that you do not consume alcohol in no way suggests that you cannot have increased GGT.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
