What Causes Enlarged And Swollen Veins After Donating Blood?

Hi, I'm a 43 y/o female, Lately I've been feeling old. My hands and arms ache. I think it has something to do with my veins since wherever it hurts my veins become enlarged, swollen, thick and the place becomes blueish. The day before yesterday I donated blood and for the first time it was hard for them to draw it out, they said my veins were too small and fragile. Afterwords the place was immensely swollen and bruised. What worries me the most is that since last night I have a troubling heaviness on my chest, when I breath deeply or cough it hurts. The right side of my neck and throat hurts. I saw with a flashlight and I have a single white spot in my throat, I don't have a fever.

Respected Madam, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
Per se blood donation is not going to make enlarged and swollen veins , only if puncture site was partially out that area can get some minor swelling / redness / pain / itching.
Heaviness in chest on deep breath or cough is related to your anxiety nothing else. White spot has also nothing to do with blood donation.
Relax, take care follow certain steps at home and you will be fine in 24 hours
*maintain your hydration level by taking plenty of liquids, lemon juice,
coconut water, tea, coffee etc.
*keep your BP and Blood sugar levels under control.
*avoid stress / anxiety.
*have adequate sleep of 8 hours.
*take all normal diet as usual.
*avoid smoking / alcohol consumption if at all doing.
*YOGA for 20 minutes daily would be of tremendous help.
Hope this clears your queries.
Thanks for using Health care Magic.
Regards
Wishing you fast and speedy recovery from the same.
