Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just had my yearly exam, and my blood work indicated I have enlarged red blood cells which my dr. Said the number has been going up...he asked me to get another blood test for vitamin b 12 and folic acid...I am in good health. I looked up the definition and became alarmed when it stated anemia..should I be alarmed about this? ,
The possible causes will be something called megaloblastic anemia arising out of Vitamin-B12 deficiency. As a first line management you can take Vitamin-B12 for symptomatic relief. A bone marrow examination is required for further assessment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
