Hello,
Since you have been taking pain killers & antibiotics & you do not have any relieve you should get physically examined (to detect the presence of fluid around the testis, torsion, testicular
infarction or abscess) by a GP.
Epididymitis orchitis in young sexually active men commonly occur due to STD or UTI. Since you have normal STD reports, get
Urinalysis (R/E, C/S) done to get a better estimate of the infection causing you discomfort.
Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the infection or surgery(in case of torsion, infarction, abscess, etc) if required.
If you have multiple sexual partners, avoid it. Full STI/HIV screening is recommended. Go for protected sex.
If you have UTI pathogen confirmed epididymitis orchitis (Unilateral), your treating doctor may give you a combination antibiotic course. After completion of the antibiotic course you will require follow up UTI investigations.
You can take Combiflam (combination of
paracetamol &
Ibuprofen), one sos when required to get relieved from the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
