What Causes Epigastric Pain Along With Steatorrhoea?
Hi, My fiancee has been having some issues with epigastric pain and one case of bad steatorrhea witha few subsequent episodes of lesser degree. She s seen a GI doc who is not really a ton of help. She got a negative endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound. Im worried we are missing something. What could this be?
I am of the opinion that steatorrhoea (fatty smelly stools) along with epigastric pain needs a surgical opinion from a general surgeon who will further advise for an ultrasound scan of the abdomen to rule out any gall bladder pathology like gall stones which could cause steatorrhoea and pain in the epigastric region.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
