What Causes Epilepsy Only During Winter Season?

Hi, My daughter who is now 15 years is suffering from Epilepsy since childhood. Visited Neuro Surgeon. Brain CT Scan taken, nothing abnormal. Valparin 200 mg is being taken daily. Only in Winter she faces epilepsy in sleep which last for 2 minutes. Please suggest

I understand your concern.
There are different causes why Epilepsy seizures increase in many patients during winter and august. It may be related to the changes in the atmospheric pressure and temperature, which induce change of the excitability and electrical changes to the brain cells. This is also known as a seasonality of epileptic seizures.
If the dose 200mg of Valparin controls this seizures I would recommend to continue on this dose, which is really low. But if she keeps having seizures during winter, I think that a dose increase during this period would be more effective in controlling her seizures.
