What Causes Episodes Of Blurred Vision With Metallic Taste In The Mouth?
I am having times where I am looking at something there is a blurred part and then I get this shimmering all around one eye or both like I am under water and then there is this metallic taste that I can t details rid of. I have been having these episodes since my thirties. Should I be seeing a neurological physcian
For blurred vision, refraction should be done and defect noted should be properly corrected.
If it was due to only refractive error problem will improve and you will be normal since there is shimmering of vison it requires further investigation.
It appears to be CNS problem so neurologist is to be consulted. If you have taken repeatedly metronedazole then it can give rise to metallic taste. Once the medicine is with drawan the taste will go.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashok Kumar Dash, Ophthalmologist
