What Causes Excess Blood In Urine Inspite Of Completing The Menstrual Cycle?
Hi My name is Melissa!!! I went to my doctor today, and they did a urine test and found there was large amounts of blood in there.....I was just coming off my period but, it has been gone for about three days? can you help me!!! I always had blood in my urine!!! is it life threathing?
It is very common to get blood in urine samples taken during periods. I would advise you to get another urine test done after your periods are over. If the sample gets blood cells again in urine then you might need few more investigations done to rule the causes of blood in urine, stones in kidney, ureter or bladder being the commonest. It is not a life threatening condition and the causes of it is very much curable.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
