Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain excessive burping after
tonsillectomy does not seems to be related to the removal of tonsils but it seems to be related to intake of medications more specifically antibiotics as the antibiotics can cause digestive disturbances like gastritis,
acid reflux and excess formation of intestinal gas leading to burping..
Although by now medicine intake might have stopped but as there might be lingering gas formation..
I would suggest you to
consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and he can be advised to take H2 blockers like Ranitidine and antacids like
calcium carbonate..
He can also be advised to take a light diet and avoid heavy spicy meals..
He should drink plenty of water and avoid carbonated drinks..
Moderate physical labour and workout will help in improving
metabolism..
Take dinner 2 hours before sleeping..
Drinking warm water can be helpful..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
