What Causes Excess Soreness In Buttocks After Having Spinal Fusion Surgery?

Hi my name is Glenn about a year ago I had an operation on L4 L5 and S1 fusion , but I am still having a lot of problems with the nerve in my buttocks , because my profession is it truckdriver long distance at that after a couple of hours of driving my bum becomes very sore and hard to sit still is it possible for this nerve to be curatizor sorry not sure on the spelling but I think you get my drift.Thank you very much Glenn Clark

Hello,

It may be due to minor nerve irritation of nerves supplying the gluteal region. Consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Drugs like gabapentin will be effective. If symptoms persists an MRI may be required.
