What Causes Excess Sweating While Being On Vyvanse For ADHD?

My son is 10 years old and has just started taking Vyvanse this week. He started at 10mg with no effect the Doctor up the dosage to 20mg. We haven t seen much of an improvement with his ADHD, but he is sweating badly. I am concerned about side effects with his age and long term effects.

Hi.

The medication can take some time to take effect and show you an improvement so please be patient. As for the side effects, most of these medications do carry side effects and so finding the one with the least/no side effects and the most effect. Usually the effect starts soon but the beat results may be seen in a few weeks (maximum 4 weeks). Of course through studies we found that the highest dose of 70 mg was found to have the best results but then it comes with its side effects. So let your doctor decide what is best for your son, and we can work towards suppressing the side effects in some way or the other.
