What Causes Excess Sweating While Taking Paracetamol After Suffering From Flu?

Good day.I am not suffering from a flu nor a cold, yet in August I did suffer a severe viral infection in brain. Prior to that I could take paracetamol for pains and fevers, no side effects. ever since that episode whenever I take a tablet for a headache I break out in sweat. Why is that?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, paracetamol is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug, that inhibits prostaglandin's, and hence reduce the body temperature.
The body reacts to this drug to lower temperature by several mechanism's.
One of the mechanism is sweating.
In your condition, changing over to selective COX 2 inhibitor, such celecoxib would help.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
