What Causes Excess Sweating While Taking Prednisone For Rheumatoid Arthritis?
I have been having trouble with excessive sweating when I am active such as carrying groceries or walking. I am on 5 MG of Prednisone daily for Rheumatoid Arthritis and I do have inactive Small Lymphocytic Leukemia. When I sweat it is all over my body and lasts a long time. Why is this happening, it is awful because my head sweats and my hair gets wet along with my clothing?
You have a history of having rheumatoid arthritis. RA flare ups may cause excessive sweating. Excessive sweating is also indicative of vitamin D deficiency. If you are in peri-menopausal phase you may experience hot flashes. It is due to hormonal or thyroid issues, take regular bath and wear soft cotton clothes. Take berries and fruits like cucumber, lettuce, melon, strawberries, olive oil, spinach and whole cereals. Take adequate water and sleep.
Side effects of taking prednisone is hot flashes, red flushed cheeks, drenching sweat due to changes in the temperature regulation. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP and get required blood and imaging tests done. You should inform your treating doctor about Prednisone and side effects that you are experiencing. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
