What Causes Excess Tiredness After Undergoing Root Canal Treatment?

Hello I had 2 root canals and a tooth extraction about 11 days ago and still feel super tired. I was given Ampacilion and today atfter an emergency visit and a 2nd dentist visit finished with Metronidazole and am still not wanting to get around much. Dr said it would be 3 weeks before I felt 100 percent. Am I just being a worry wort? I might mention also that a am 59 year old male with diabetes and CHF but have had no recent heart problems and just saw my cardiologist and he said all look good and that I could continue active lifestyle with no restrictions.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain tiredness in your case is related to medicines as many a times after taking antibiotics the patient feels dizzy and tired and it is all due to the side effect of antibiotic and in your case Ampicillin which is a penicillin group of antibiotics has caused side effects leading to tiredness..
As you have been now changed to metronidazole hopefully the symptoms will gradually subside..
You should continue taking a nutritious diet and medicine but in case if the symptoms exaggerate you should consult your dentist again..
Another thing I would like to tell you that in case if you do not have any pain or if you have already taken antibiotics for more than 10 days hopefully the infection might have subsided and you need not to take more of antibiotics and consultation and discussion with your dentist about it should be done..

Hope this information helps.

Thanks and regards..
