Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excess Weight Loss And Upper Back Pain?
I am concerned because I have lost 90 pounds without trying in like 7 months I know I really needed to lose weight because I was so overweight but it came off fast and now I never get hungry and when I do remember that I have gone a couple of days and haven t ate anything I do try to eat but can t even eat a whole sandwich about half way thur eating a sandwich I get very full so full like that I think I am going to vomit if I take another bite of it . Is any of this normal? And I am having a lot of upper back pain don t know if that would have anything to do with each other
Anorexia and losing 90 pounds in 7 months unintentionally is something odd, and needs evaluation. Chronic inflammation, neoplasms or depression all can present like this.
Without examining you, I am not sure whether the back pain is related or not. Kindly see you doctor for evaluation. After examining, he may request few investigations like blood routine, ESR and x ray of back.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
