What Causes Excessive Anger And Hallucinations While On Prozac And Bentyl?

My husband is on Prozac and his symptoms are worse. He is very moody....angry moods. He sees a man with long dark hair in our bedroom and says he is after me. He acts like he is not here or doesn t know where he is . I don t think this is normal. He is also taking bentyl. Should he be taking these 2 meds together

Hi,

This is a tricky situation. Your husband is probably bipolar. This is a mental illness called as manic depressive psychosis which is sensitive to the drug that your husband takes called as Prozac. The tricky situation is that, when your husbands mood is low, he needs just enough. Prozac capsule administration to make his mood centered (neither low nor high), however, Prozac should not be given for more than 2 weeks to such a person, preferably under psychiatric supervision.

Note that the immediate solution to your problem is to stop the Prozac, meanwhile, you can continue giving him Bentyl (without Prozac).
