Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excessive Bleeding After Taking Postinor 2?
I do not have a 28 day circle. Sometimes it fluctuates between 21 and 22 days circle so I tend to ovulate early. I had sex during the fourth day of my menses. I took postinor 2 and have not stopped bleeding. Now I am seeing blood clots. My menses came on the 13th of June stopped on the 17th after a day, I started experiencing bleeding till now the 29th of June. What could be wrong? I have had an surgery for an ectopic pregnancy before in 2010.
Is it first time your taking Postinor? Yes, it may be a side effect due to hormonal pill or it may be due to uterine fibroid or endometrial bleeding. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Tranexemic 500mg for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult with your gynecologist she will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
