What Causes Excessive Body Heat At Night?

I give off high body heat at night. My wife can t cuddle up to me because she says that I make her to hot. We keep the bed room cook to cold so that I won t be hot. I once was far and have off less body heat, but still did. Now that I have lost a lot of weight, I give off a large amount of body heat.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Night Sweats might be due to non - medical causes like simple work out, hot shower or taking hot drinks before going to bed. Certain medical causes includes:
- Anxiety or stress
- GERD
- Hyperhidrosis
- Medications: pain killers, steroids, anti-psychotics
- Low testosterone levels
- Hormone disorders like hyperthyroidism etc.
- Infections, certain neurological conditions.
In the history you have mentioned loss of weight, so thyroid function test should be done to rule out hyperthyroidism. I advise you to hydrate yourself nicely. Take Coconut water, aloe vera, buttermilk etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
