What Causes Excessive Burping Along With Pain In The Lower Abdomen?

Hi, I am from India. I am totally confused about my disease. In November I have been diagnosed with crohn s. After that I took medicine for a month. I felt ok. Then I stop taking them. After that I again found the symptoms back. I did a colonoscopy and the repo reports were normal. But I still feel the symptoms like lot of burping, blood in stools. Suddenly, some food causes pain in lower right abdomen after which I used to urinate frequently without much drinking of water. And my BP goes low and I feel weak with no energy. Please help me out if you could help me with my questions. Thank You. Regards, Kirti Khaira

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms may indicate a specific condition called hiatal hernia and this means that stomach is protruding through diaphragm muscle. It may cause breathing difficulties, nausea, swallowing difficulties, and irritation of stomach. It will also be aggravated by certain food or medications, stress and smoking. You need to avoid fried food, carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol, and spicy food. You should eat more milk products, vegetables, and boiled food. Also, certain antacid medications may be required and as a last option, it is possible to perform surgical repair of hernia, especially if there are progressive respiratory discomfort and dyspepsia. To diagnose it you should do gastroscopy and if this is negative, as in your case, then you should do contrast x-rays of stomach.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
