I had double knee replacement surgery in May. After my release ( the next day, in fact!) I was admitted to the ER with very low blood pressure and low oxygen. I spent three days there, with the conclusion being a reaction to the drugs. Since that time, I have begun choking a lot. By a lot, I will say at least once daily. It seems like it takes me a very long time to get that particular bite of food to go down my esophagus. I have to try to relax and breathe, not talk, not try to drink something to help, just breathe. I do not know if this could be a side effect from the surgery, or stress, but it is worrisome. I am alone on a ranch in ND, the pickup won t start (too cold) , the car has a flat tire, I have no phone service, just Internet. I choked at lunch time on my steak salad and thought Well, I better get an answer! So here we are. Thanks for any light you can shed on this situation.
