What Causes Excessive Cough, Chest Pain, Headache And Fatigue?
Hi. My boyfriend has been in bed the past 2 days with a horrible cough, chest pain, headache and fatigue. He hasn t been able to eat or drink anything. He s also been coughing up green phlegm. I was thinking either a chest infection or bronchitis? Any idea what it might be?
There are many cause of green phlegm . But your boyfriend suffering for last two days, so it is a acute condition. It is probably due to infection by streptococcus infection though it may be a non infectious condition like sinusitis. Best treatment option is as follows: 1. Inhale vapor four times a day. 2. Use a empirical antibiotic like amoxicillin (500mg) four times daily for five days. 3. Use a cough formula based on bromhexine and levosalbutamol ( Ascoril - LS) 4. Gurgle four times a day.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Symptoms of cough, chest pain, headache and fatigue are suggestive of infection in the respiratory tract. It needs to be evaluated and treated with a course of proper antibiotics and decongestant medication. Kindly consult Physician in this regard for clinical evaluation and appropriate management. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
