Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son was born on November 28, 2017 and has had constant problems since being born. At first we believed it was the formula so his pediatrician changed his formula to Simalac Allimentum. Things went fine for 2 weeks and then he started having episodes where he would just scream constantly all throughout the day and not sleep at all then be overtired at night and be drained. I took him to the ER last week and they predict that he has acid reflux. His pediatrician prescribed him Zantec and he has only been on it for 1 week and he has seemed better but now he has been having really bad episodes. He will cry to the point you cannot put him down or he will continue to cry. He holds his legs out straight as a board, very stiff. Today he has only eaten twice. A total of 8 ounces today. I try to express my concerns with his pediatricians office but no one seems to understand or know what is going on with him. Is someone able to help me try to figure out why my almost 2 month old son is having these episodes.
I think he is having abdominal pain and many children have the first three months of life. A can advise you to keep him upright after feeding him in order to let the gas go out and gas than you can lay him down. Excessive gas eating leads to abdominal pain. Also, make sure he is his mouth properly to the bottle and doesn’t ingest air. Also, massage him.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
