I m female, 55 years of age, 110 lbs., workout 4 to 6 times a week, eat pretty healthy, but have my moments. I also, drink 8 glasses of water a day. I m losing my hair on my head and pelvic area, but not any where else. I m losing my hair from the root, it is not breaking off. The doctor has ruled out any thyroid issue. What could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear. Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I read your query and I understand your concern. I would like to know about how long have you been in menopause . Menopause itself is a reason of hair loss.
Also a total blood count needs to be done to exclude iron deficiency anemia.
Also take some otc vitamines for hair loss.
Take care.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help you.
Best regards. Dr Olgeta Xhufka ( general and family physician ).
I find this answer helpful
