What Causes Excessive Hunger While On Iron Supplements?
I have been on iron supplements for about 2 weeks after the haematologist said I had low normal ferritin but high TIBC. Have had high platelets apparently for years and Drs are trying to work out what is happening. The problem is that I am hungry all the time. I do not want to eat more and put on weight. I am 57kg but am also type 2 diabetic. Can the iron supplements- 600mg ferrous sulphate- be causing the hunger?

The usual case of iron supplementation does not offer increased appetite, but if the same is happening after the consumption of medication, the same must be addressed to the consultant for proper guidelines.
