Hello,
Uterine fibroids are commonly treated with
hormonal medications to help shrink fibroid & control bleeding. However, you are suggested to visit an gynecologist, get physically examine, get all the blood & Imaging tests done to assess the size & location of the fibroid, polyp or
cyst.
Your treating doctor will treat you with GnRH agonists,
Tranexamic acid, Progestin releasing IUD or suggest surgery depending upon the severity of your symptoms & discomfort that is interfering in your work life. It is the fibroid that is causing excessive bleeding. Since you have a history of getting anemic, you are suggested to get treated at the earliest.
In the meantime take food rich in calcium, iron,
magnesium & minerals. Take food rich in protein. You can take
iron supplements.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
