For months now I have awakened during the night and/or early morning with large amounts of mucus in my throat. The drainage continues fairly heavily for an hour after I m out of bed. Often, my cough produces a clear, gelatinous or sponge type mucus. These are small formed pieces and concern me as if related to a disease like lung cancer.
