Excessive phlegm with vomiting in our 91yo mother, who has had COPD diagnosed and treatment for about 4-5 years, is under hospice care (long term), diet includes no solids and even 2oz of broth or juice will instigate vomiting. This juice/phlegmy cough/vomit cycle has been consistent for last 48 hr. She has needed O2 condenser steadily for last 48-72 hr. What are possible causes for the phlegm, and how can we help to reduce the volume?
