General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your 4 years boy is getting fussy. Sometimes children at that age will do things they think it's not good or clean for them. Do not force to stop that habit. Instead try to spend a little more time with him, understand what he likes and dislikes.

Understand why he loves to play with his saliva. Children play all the time even with strange toys like saliva. Until he will grow up and think more, it will be like that. If he can swallow foods or drinks then there's nothing bad going on.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
