What Causes Excessive Scalp Sweating While On Atenolol, Synthroid, And Metformin?

I am a 68 year old woman who takes Atenolol, synthroid, and Metformin. Do any of these medications make your head sweat? I am usually too warm when my co-workers are not. My body does not sweat, but my head does! It is very embarrassing and uncomfortable.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Ma'am Hi & Welcome.
The medications Synthyroid appears to be responsible for your problems.
Common side effects of Synthroid include fever, hot flashes (feeling warmth), sensitivity to heat, sweating, headache, nervousness, irritability, nausea, sleep problems (insomnia), changes in appetite or changes in weight, and menstrual changes.
Whereas the other prescribed medications are unlikely to be associated with such symptoms. Kindly consult your treating physician to adjust the dose of Synthyroid.
Hope this will solve your problems.
