What Causes Excessive Sleep And Dizziness While Having Anemia And Thyroid Disorder?
My husband is sleepy most of the day. He has spells of dizziness upon standing up. He sleeps for several hours in the afternoon and falls asleep early in the evening, not awaking until late morning. He has been tested for sleep apena and uses a CPAC machine for at least 6 hours per night. He received a diagnosis of under active thyroid and has been on medication for 2+ years. He has been on iron tablets for several months due a low level anemia diagnosis. MRI s of the brain and heart showed no problems or damage. what s a next step to resolve the health matter?
The excess sleep and dizziness with hypothyroid and sleep apnea condition needs reassessment of current thyroid level and dose adjustment of CPAP machine readings. Latest reports of thyroid hormones, all blood gas analysis, complete hemogram evaluation if available can guide you further, precisely and accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
