What Causes Excessive Sleep In A Patient With A Clinical History Of Sleep Apnea?
Hi, my mom has been seeing her doctor about sleep apnea and she recently had a sleep study done two weeks ago and they determined that she has acute sleep apnea. A month ago she was hospitalized for a week because she was struggling to breathe. So they had her on 3 liters of oxygen and the have her on 3 liters of oxygen at home. Right now she is going through an episode of being in sleep and she can't seem to wake up. I got home from work and my brothers said she has been like this for about 3 hours. So I figured that she needed to take her diabetic medications, so I gave her those and some orange juice because from what my brother says she hasn't eaten since 10 am. I was able to get her awake for a couple of minutes and she said she feels weak, she also looks confused and drowsy. Sorry this is long but I want to make sure you have enough information as possible.
