What Causes Excessive Sleep Patterns In Children?

My 6 year old daughter has never taken naps. These past 3 weeks she has been coming home from school and going straight to bed around 3:30 and not waking until 7:00-7:30. She then eats and gets ready for bed again and is asleep by 9:00pm. She wakes up every morning at 7:30am. Her doctor said she's probably just growing, but 3 weeks of growing? She has a history of severe asthma and weighs about 40 lb.

Hi. I can understand your concern.
As your doctor rightly said it could be a part of growing up. But whatever said and done you can get her evaluated with routine blood tests and a chest x ray. Hope she does not have any other symptoms like fever and her appetite is good. Also talk to her and assess if she has any concerns or anxieties related to school , her friends etc.
Don't worry, she will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
