What Causes Excessive Sleepiness And Tiredness While On Steroids For Arteritis?
I m 44 yrs old. I was diagnosed with takayasu s arteritis last year, which I have been in bad shape for many years before being diagnosed. I m on steroids and still stay so tired and want to sleep all the time. Yes I still have 5 more blockages and was doing better but now symptoms are coming back. I would feel great if I wasn t so tired all the time. What can I do?

check your thyroid hormones, u may have hypothyroidism caused by steroids causing hypersomnia
arteritis may affect thyroid gland as well causing hypofunction of gland . steroids also stimulte kappa and mu receptors increasing endorphins and enkephalins sensitivity
