What Causes Excessive Sleepiness While On Methamphetamine?

Hi, I have a daughter in her 40 s who has drank a lot from age 15, the past several years she has been using meth as well. When she leaves for a day or more she comes back and sleeps for days as she is sick and each time has nearly no voice. Does meth cause this?
