Hello my daughter suffers with primary generalized seizures she had a seizure yesterday morning called 911 took to ER they changed her Keppra from 15 ml to 17.5 she also takes risperidone and another medication for seizures. Now last night I gave her the Keppra this morning she was sleeply she attends a day support program Monday through Friday 10 to 2 p.m. she also takes Fludrocortisone and Hyrocortosine also. I called the nurse she said to give to it her every 12 hours well she goes to bed between 7 and 8 has been a few late times I say do not give it to her at night and of mornings while leaving for day support because she will be all sleeply she gets alright after a while her medications make her sleeply to. Please reply ASAP
It is the intake of Risperidone, antipsychotic and anti-seizure medication giving sleepiness as part of CNS depression. You should discuss the same with her doctor, who will adjust the dosage in accordance to that for better results.
