Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Excessive sleepiness at your age can occur due to a number of reasons. One common reason is some endocrine disturbance especially hypothyroidism. In hypothyroidism individuals start showing day time drowsiness, increased weight and a number of other symptoms. Other possible reason is iron deficiency anaemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, some sleep disorder etc. Visit a doctor and get these medical conditions ruled out.
Some times non refreshing sleep during night time, sleep apneas etc present with day time sedation and increased sleepiness. But if you are getting good sleep in night then there is no problem.
Other reason for day time sleepiness is depression. In depression individuals have multiple awakening in night, non refreshing sleep and have day time tiredness, fatiguability and sleepiness. Please consult a good doctor and get yourself evaluated to rule out these conditions.
