What Causes Excessive Sleeping While Suffering From Fluid In The Lungs?

my father was asleep in his chair and my mom noticed that his breathing seems labored. his stomach seems to move at a different rate than his chest. he woke up to use the rest room and we asked how he was feeling and he said fine. his color is good his appetite is good he just seems to be sleeping a lot. he is suppose to wear oxygen but he fights it. Was in the ER recently with fluid in his lungs. We ve been giving him his meds regularly and he seem so much better. Today however, he seems to be sleeping more than usual

Hi,

He may be suffering from sleep apnea syndrome in which blood oxygen levels may fall during sleep. It is possible that he may be suffering from heart failure.

Use oxygen mask and check blood gas analysis. Check cardiac status.

Please consult your physician/sleep therapist, he may examine and treat you accordingly.
