What Causes Excessive Sweating Along With Palpitations?

i just started sweating profusely and felt like my heart was beating really fast. i have never had this before.it lasted for an hour and my heart rate jumped to 137 and usually i have a resting rate around 50-55. i am 63 and in good shape and am a long distance runner.

2= hyperthyroidism
3=pheochomocytoma.
