What Causes Excessive Sweating And Disorientation?

my husband is experiencing sweating, burning up, and is very disoriented wanting to know where he is, what date it is, what month it is. He knows me but has a problem believing it is the month of August. I gave him an ice bag and he is lying down. He seems very confused and disoriented. Can you tell me what is happening?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

More details needed to make a probable diagnosis! If he is older, it can be an early sign of Alzheimer's disease. Other probability is electrolyte imbalances as hyponatremia. Consult a physician and get evaluated. Better to do an MRI scan to look for any lesions in brain and do serum electrolytes to rule out electrolytes abnormalities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
