What Causes Excessive Sweating And Protruding Veins On The Arm After Taking Imodium?

5 days ago I bought some cold, pickled and seasoned brussel sprouts at Safeway in the deli at the end of the day. That night I began having diarrhea every half hour. I continued to have this for 4 days, until I needed to travel home. I took a half Immodium tablet with lots of water. Last night, I was sweating profusely most of the night. A strange symptom occurred when I woke up at 4:30 am. I looked in the mirror and saw that all the veins on my left arm were a bright aqua blue. Usually, you can barely see my veins. I showed my husband, who verified he saw it, as well. Are these symptoms related? I am weak and tired, as well.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is not related to Imodium. If symptoms persist better to consult a general surgeon and plan for venous Doppler.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
