What Causes Excessive Sweating And Stomach Soreness In A Diabetic Child?

My son is 9 and he is sweating like crazy in his sleep right now. He said his belly was sore before he fell asleep . His reading at bedtime was 5.2 ,@ 9:00 7.1 so I gave him 15grms of milk and now at 11 he is 9.4 . He is type 1. Do you think this is diabetic realated or just getting a cold?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Excess sweating in a child with type 1 diabetes indicates hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) most likely and must be presented to an ER without delay.

* A home blood sugar evaluation with glucose strip is best method of evaluation if available on hand.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
