What Causes Excessive Sweating At Night?

i am wondering what may cause excessive night sweating ? like a outline of body totally soaked. i am 34 basically healthy no known problems. could it be just being to hot ? or is there something possibly going on? it doesnt happen all the time but has been a problem lately.

Hi,

There are many causes of night sweating:

a) Menopause: the hot flashes which occurs in menopause which leads to night sweating.

b) Infection: some infections causes Night sweating like T.B,endocarditis,osteomylitis,abscess,HIV.

c) Cancers: Night Sweating are early symptom of some cancer like lymphoma.

Some medicines causes night sweating like aspirin, acetaminophen.

Hypoglycemia, hormone disorder like carcinoid syndrome, hyperthyroidism, autonomic dydreflexia, post traumatic springomyelia ,autonomic neuropathy stroke. Get some test to rule out the cause include blood test like cbc, ESR, Fsh/LH, TFT, LFT, HIV, chest x ray to rule out TB abscess or other causes CT or MRI.
