What Causes Excessive Sweating, Fever And Fainting Sensation When Diagnosed With Influenza?

I recently had a full knee replacement and since then I have been fight extreme sweating, fever, aches and pains in my body arms and legs, everywhere. I was recently diagnosed with influenza. Dr put me on zpack and it seemed to work good. But now I m still suffering with extreme sweating and drained and feel like passing out if I do very much. Today I tried to go to the store for a little while and almost collapsed. I went and layed down but I hurt so bad from the muscle cramps now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi
thank you for asking your concern and welcome to hcm. sweating, fever aches are typical sign of flu and if you are feeling ok now then that is good. there are few reasons for muscle cramps like vit d deficiency, calcium deficiency, potassium deficiency or any focus of infection. i hope you have been on vit d and calcium tablet after your operation. for potassium correction lime water, banana and tomato and ORS are good source of potassium. are you feeling any burning in urination, do you pass urine frequently, or do u need to go for urine in night 2-3 times if yes then i would suggest to have a urine routine examination, check for blood pressure and screen for diabetes. if some infection is there in urine then you need to take antibiotic like tablet ofloxacin 400 mg twice a day for 5- 7 days. if you feel more week please consult a doctor.
if you feel any doubt please ask us
regards
