Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excessive Sweating, Hot Body Temperature And Vomiting?
My husband works as an electrician at a power plant. Yesterday, the heat index was over 100, but he drank lots of water and felt fine other than being hot and sweating a lot. Last night, however, he woke up and threw up for an hour, never having felt like he cooled off. His skiing is extremely hot to the touch, but thermometer reads below normal temp. What should I do?
Thanks for using HCM, I understand your concern and will try to give you my medical advice, I think tha he needs avoid or minimize the sun effects applying this tips: drink different beverages no only water to replaced his body lost salt or electrolytes because just water is insufficient to keep a right hydration about his hot skin is normal because he had a long exposure to the high temperature, does not mean that he has fever ( although fever is a symptom of dehydration) I advise that he needs to wear a fresh clothes like cotton ( no lycra or nylons) with light colors because the dark colors retain the sunlight, dark glasses and sunscreen (UVA) is really important that he covers his head all the time. I hope that my advice has been helpful, take care
